The About.Me Project
This project was inspired by the popular website About.Me, where users can create a free online profile including a picture and biography. As students used the site, they realized that there were many constraints when placing photos and text. Therefore, we currently create our About.Me profiles using Photoshop. Students at Chute and Nichols take photos, edit them on the web apps Pixlr-o-matic or Tilt Shift Generator, then import them into Adobe Photoshop to add text and design the layout of their profile. Below you will find About.Me project galleries from Chute and Nichols. There are some starter questions Ms. Nava uses to get students started in writing their biographies. Mrs. Kushner also compiled interesting profile examples from the About.Me site. There is a handout called 'Describing About.Me' which Mrs. Kushner uses as a guide for students to describe and evaluate their final projects. There is also a project rubric below.
